He dove once again, as he says, into the waters of world literature, retrieving from memory all the images that first etched themselves into his imagination and accompanied him on the adventure of reading. Drawing from those mythical oceans and with the taste of a "strange world," painter Andreas Georgiadis unraveled a thread of personal heritage owed to the great novels of the 19th century.
His exhibition, with the symbolic and profound title In Search of Lost Time, is currently on display at the 24 Art Space and is a "journey" in itself. These works, which reconstruct a world of fragmented dreams and shards of blurred memories, represent Georgiadis' latest creative harvest. They can also be seen as a "statement" for a different kind of navigation through the modern world. He gathers scraps and threads and ties them to the mast of a sailing ship. This voyage, aboard a raft steered by painting and literature, ultimately forms a peaceful yet tempestuous manifesto of refined taste and thoughtful desires.
Using the medium of ink, Andreas Georgiadis simultaneously introduces us to a landscape of unique light. This is an exhibition inspired by books that rewired neural connections and perhaps made us better human beings.
